GREAT LAKES SHIPWRECK MUSEUM

Sponsored by the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society this world-class museum located at historic Whitefish Point is open May 1 through October 31, 7 days per week. The complex includes the Whitefish Point Light Station, walking access to Lake Superior's southern shore, the Shipwreck Coast Gift Store and the Crews Quarters Overnight Accommodations.

HIAWATHA NATIONAL FOREST

An 894,836-acre national forest in the Upper Peninsula of the state of Michigan. Often times referred to as the Great Lakes National Forest, commercial logging is conducted in some areas.

OSWALD'S BEAR RANCH

Oswald's Bear Ranch has four habitats that allow visitors to explore the perimeters and view these great live roaming bears. Platforms allow visitors to have a barrier free view of the bears. This is a great place to bring the family. Have your picture taken with bear cubs!

POINT IROQUOIS LIGHTHOUSE

First operated in 1857 this museum hosts a unique maritime history with personal accounts of those who ran the lighthouses. Broadcasting the entrance to the St. Mary's River from Lake Superior stands the 65 foot tower which is open to the public during visitng hours May 15th through October 15, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily. There is gift shop on th premises as well.

TAHQUAMENON FALLS STATE PARK

The second largest state park in the state of Michigan is located west of Paradise on M-123. The park has more than 40 miles of hiking trails, 13 inland lakes, 24 miles of the Tahquamenon River and approximately 20,000 acres of natural area. The Lower Falls entrance is located 10 miles west and the Upper Falls park entrance is 14 miles west of Paradise on Michigan State Road 123. The Mouth of the Tahquamenon River park entrance is located 5 miles south of Paradise on M-123.

TAHQUAMENON FALLS RIVERBOAT TOURS

Tour #1 is 6 1/2 hour train and riverboat tour to the Tahquamenon Falls. Tour #2 is a 1 3/4 hour Toonerville Trolley Wilderness Train Ride. Open mid-June through early October. Visit us on the web!

WHITEFISH POINT BIRD OBSERVATORY

For over 30 years, Whitefish Point Bird Observatory has been monitoring and documenting the annual migrations of birds. Their mission is to document the distribution and abundance of birds in the Great Lakes Region, with special emphasis on migration. The facility hosts a seasonal gift shop and interpretive center, spring & fall programs that include birding trips and bird viewing areas.

WHITEFISH POINT LIGHT STATION

As the oldest operating lighthouse on Lake Superior, the present light tower was constructed in 1861 during Abraham Lincoln's administration. Whitefish Point is located at the extreme southeastern end of Lake Superior. It is a critical turning point for all vessel traffic entering and leaving this largest of all the Great Lakes.

of SENEY NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE

Bird watchers and beach goers will love the Whitefish Point Unit of Seney National Wildlife Refuge. This 52 acre parcel of land hugs the Lake Superior shoreline on the north and east portion of "the point".
