First operated in 1857 this museum hosts a unique maritime history with personal accounts of those who ran the lighthouses. Broadcasting the entrance to the St. Mary's River from Lake Superior stands the 65 foot tower which is open to the public during visitng hours May 15th through October 15, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily. There is gift shop on th premises as well.
The second largest state park in the state of Michigan is located west of Paradise on M-123. The park has more than 40 miles of hiking trails, 13 inland lakes, 24 miles of the Tahquamenon River and approximately 20,000 acres of natural area. The Lower Falls entrance is located 10 miles west and the Upper Falls park entrance is 14 miles west of Paradise on Michigan State Road 123. The Mouth of the Tahquamenon River park entrance is located 5 miles south of Paradise on M-123.

For over 30 years, Whitefish Point Bird Observatory has been monitoring and documenting the annual migrations of birds. Their mission is to document the distribution and abundance of birds in the Great Lakes Region, with special emphasis on migration. The facility hosts a seasonal gift shop and interpretive center, spring & fall programs that include birding trips and bird viewing areas.
As the oldest operating lighthouse on Lake Superior, the present light tower was constructed in 1861 during Abraham Lincoln's administration. Whitefish Point is located at the extreme southeastern end of Lake Superior. It is a critical turning point for all vessel traffic entering and leaving this largest of all the Great Lakes.
Bird watchers and beach goers will love the Whitefish Point Unit of Seney National Wildlife Refuge. This 52 acre parcel of land hugs the Lake Superior shoreline on the north and east portion of "the point".
