August 20, 21, & 22, 2010

If you are looking for a fun-filled weekend for the whole family,
head to the
Wild Blueberry Festival on the shore of Whitefish Bay in Paradise Michigan.
On the third full weekend of August each year the town of Paradise invites you to join them
for the
Arts & Crafts Fair and Wild Blueberry Celebration.

Browse the Arts & Crafts Fair with 50+ artists
and enjoy continuous family entertainment throughout the weekend.

The 2009 Blueberry Festival included the following entertainment:

This year begins each day with the Blueberry Brunch,
accompanied by the piano music of Palma Richardson on Friday and Saturday.
Storyteller, Marjorie Schaefer
will entertain with a collection of rhymes, fables, and folk tales each day,
and Paradise's own juggler, Chet Mitchell,
will amaze us once again with his juggling ability and comic wit.

Friday's entertainment includes magician, The Amazing Clark;
music by Shari Mainshaem and Dan Hall;
and Michael Deren as a Schooner Captain
will take you back in time on a schooner trip on the Great Lakes.
Enjoy th
e Blueberry Jamboree on Friday from 6:00 - 10:00 pm.
Take a Horse-drawn wagon ride from 6:00 pm until dusk
and don't miss encore performances by Dan Hall at 6:00 pm and Shari Mainshaem at 8:00 pm.

Saturday Marcey Walsh will entertain with "highly contagious education",
there will be music by Serendipity,
and Greg Lester's Puppet Adventures offers Thumbelina and Jack & the Beanstalk for your enjoyment.
Saturday's
Blueberry Jamboree from 6:00 - 10:00 pm starts with Horse-drawn wagon rides.
Kitty Donohoe presents "Bunyons & Banjoes" at 6:00 pm,
and Serendipity will encore at 8:00 pm.

Sunday morning welcomes Kitty Donohoe's "Legends & Lighthouses"
and the Blue Water Ramblers will bring us an enjoyable afternoon of folk music.

The "Blueberry Jamboree" is held both Friday and Saturday evenings
under the canopy in downtown Paradise.

If you want to pick your own blueberries, grab a bucket.
In the Eastern Upper Peninsula, most of the land north of the Tahquamenon River
is covered with blueberries-along the roads, in the fields, and out in the open.

Blueberries are usually growing under the sun, or in sparse shade,
so don't look in the pine forests.
They thrive in open areas where loggers have cleared the land.

The Paradise Chamber of Commerce welcomes everyone to come join the fun!
